FAQ’s Q: What forms of quality control do you use?
A: At AKTO we take quality control very seriously and implement various forms with each project. First and foremost experienced native speakers handle your project from start to finish. Only native speakers are familiar with all the aspects of the language. This knowledge can only be gathered by ‘living’ the language from childhood on. Second, all of our translation work is edited and proofread by a second native speaker. The projects are handled in-house – your documents will not be sent out to external freelancers. Furthermore, when dealing with technical texts, we work with experts in the field to deliver you a translation that communicates the content in the way it was meant in the original language. Q: Can you handle updates to my content?
A: Yes. AKTO uses highly secure document storage systems that allow us to retrieve materials in a matter of seconds. Changes and/or updates can then be done without having the client send the documents a second time. Q: What kind of turnover rate can I expect?
A: It is entirely reasonable to expect a translator to complete approximately 200-300 words per hour depending on the difficulty of the subject matter. One a job is quoted and approved a project team is formed that creates a break down of costs and a time-line for the customer. One must keep in mind that beyond the initial translation, time is needed for further processing and quality control. Q: How do you ensure confidentiality?
A: It is important to us that you feel comfortable with how your materials are being handled. Our translators are required to sign a confidentiality work order for each project they are involved with. Furthermore, documents are stored securely and can only be accessed in-house by those directly involved with the project. Q: Which formats do you support?
A: We support all common formats. Q: Do you use machine translation software?
A: A machine translation refers to the conversion of one language into another. Translation software is incapable of translating complex sentences correctly. We do not use such software at AKTO. Translation tools such as technical dictionaries and keyword databases are used when necessary to ensure quality work.
